Coated steel plates are generally produced centrally by metallurgical companies, eliminating the need for coating processes in product manufacturing and greatly reducing packaging manufacturing costs. It has been estimated that the cost of packaging products made from thin steel plates can be reduced by 5 to 10%, saving energy by about 1/6 to 1/5, and particularly saving the pretreatment of packaging products and the large investment in coating equipment. The coated steel sheet combines the advantages of both organic polymer and steel sheet, both good colorability, formability, and corrosion resistance of organic polymers, as well as the high strength and ease of processing of the steel sheet, enabling easy blanking. , bending, deep drawing, welding and other processing.
Currently, there are approximately 474 coated steel plate production lines in nearly 200 companies in 40 countries and regions around the world. There are about 200 production lines in the United States, more than 50 in Japan, 120 in European countries, and 74 production lines in Asia. At present, the annual production capacity of coated steel plates in the world is 14 million tons, including 450 tons in the United States, 4 million tons in Europe, 2.7 million tons in Japan, and 1.2 million tons in other Asian countries. The combined annual production capacity of the United States, Japan, and Europe accounts for approximately 84% of the total private-owned production capacity. According to incomplete statistics, as of May 2006, 24 coated steel plate production lines have been built in China, with an annual production capacity of 1.616 million tons. In addition, there are more than a dozen production lines under construction and in preparation.
