As a well-known supplier of custom color and special effects masterbatches, Ampacet has introduced a new pigment series, Liquidmetal, which enables blown and extruded polyethylene terephthalate (PET) Packaging to produce a highly reflective metallic appearance. .
Liquidmetal series contains six metallic colors: brass, metallic chrome, copper bronze, black agate, graphite and bronze baskets. Its development began in order to meet the requirements of high-end plastic packaging, which can reproduce metallic luster effect for cosmetics, skin/hair care products and other health and beauty auxiliary products as well as special food, beverage and car care products.
The new masterbatch technology platform is based on Ampacet Formula X PET technology. It does not require pre-bake PET pigments and can be fed from the extruder feed port. This technique also reduces feed port clogging, screw slip, and improves pigment dispersion.
Doug Brownfield, Marketing Strategy Manager, said: “Our metallic color brings to car PET a top finish similar to a highly polished transparent coating. The appearance of PET is further improved by the use of pigments with higher reflectivity, depth and brightness, the Liquidmetal series. Can produce more shelf-attractive packaging."
“It gives designers a new choice for metal effect packaging. For example, any package that wants to produce a metallic aluminum finish may think of a PET package using Liquidmetal's metallic chromium effect, while comparing possible cost and design flexibility.”
